Index pages with independent value
Category, geo, profile, and guide pages should only be indexed when they have enough live supply, useful context, and unique value for a searcher. Being technically renderable is not the same as being worth crawling.
Keep duplicate filter states under control
Most sort combinations, empty facets, and internal search states should not become public index targets. Crawl budget is won by discipline, not by generating every possible URL.
Use governance, not guesswork
Strong marketplaces define index, noindex, canonical, redirect, and removal behavior up front. They also review weak pages regularly instead of waiting for rankings to collapse.
